—About Me

Let’s start with something personal
I come from a rather large family. I was born in Guayaquil – Ecuador and I am the first of six children. I came to the U.S in May of 2000 and I have lived in New Jersey since February of 2001.
While growing up in Ecuador I liked going to school very much and in general learning new things. In my last year at high school I ran for the Student Council’s Vice-Presidency and I won. At the University, I also got briefly involved with the student council on my first year. After graduating from the School of Language at the University of Guayaquil I started working as secretary at the Government’s Telecomunications Company while also working as English teacher at a night shool for adults.
In the recent years and, since I have more free time I have being attending events organized by the immigrant community, which I have enjoyed and continue to do so.
How I got my knowledge
I was blessed enough to get hired by the first immigration attorney a few months after I arrived in the US. I started at this firm in March of 2021 and as legal secretary I assisted the attorney mostly with some family petitions, labor visas, uncontested divorces, Municipal court cases (traffic violations) and Bankruptcy.
Six years later I moved to a larger firm as immigration paralegal and I continued working there with labor visas, uncontested divorces, and Municipal court cases. I also got very involved with the immigration community by assisting them in reaching out to available social services, which as an immigrant myself I had no knowledge that they existed.
For 2014 to 2024 I worked as Immigration Paralegal, Paralegal Trainer and Supervisor at a firm which mostly practices Asylum and Defense from Removal for immigrants in deportation proceedings.
